and a new hobby is born
I love you Albertsons!
Thanks to Albertsons I scored all of this this week for only $11.17 for a total savings of $60.58 (there's even a second can of frosting missing from the picture).
Besides a toddler, a husband, a job, a primary and the holidays to explain my recent absence from blogging, a major culprit is actually a new hobby that I have recently picked up (as if I don't have enough already)... I have delved into the glorious world of COUPONING!!!
I decided to start clipping coupons with the goal in mind to save some money on groceries. I knew going into this that it could be time consuming, but what I never knew is how addicting it would be! The first time I saved $80 in one transaction I got this rush of adrenaline that took me by surprise!
I have a friend who gave me an idea of how to start (thanks for your help Leah!) and after spending a lot of time on pinchingyourpennies.com I figured out a system that works for me and I love it! Since then, Albertsons has become my new best friend.
And the best part besides the incredible savings?....drum roll please.... I have only resorted to Walmart once (out of necessity) in the past three months. Hallelujah.

You caught on so fast and now you are a pro! That's cool.
Oh my gosh, what a funny post! Totally sounds like Brandon's dad. He is the most crazy couponer I know. He gets some stuff at Albertson's that they basically end up paying him to take home. It's so funny. Way to go Kristi! You'll have to let me know when there are good deals.
When I was little, my older brother and I had to go "collecting coupons." My mom had contacted everyone within two blocks to ask them if she could have their Sunday coupons. So, every Monday my brother and I each took a block and we had to go to the neighbors and pick up the coupons they saved for us. My mom had a special filing system, pulling each page apart and putting it in a different file folder. I didn't realize how weird that was until now--but a good idea. Anyway, I try to look at coupons, but it seems like the coupon is for a name brand item that I always by in generic for cheaper than the coupon anyway. Or they are for things that I never buy, which would make me just spend more money that i originally would. Any hints or tips for someone that has strayed from her bringing up years?
We'll have to talk!
Awesome. You scored.
Way to make me proud.
And, how did I miss that sale?
Me looking skinny in those pictures on my blog is all an illusion. Must have just been a weird camera angle. :)
